We’ve got a big one this month. New features, a bunch of fixes, and a whole lot of work behind the scenes to make emails land in people’s inboxes. Here’s what’s new.
Text-to-Speech / Voice Over
Your course content can now be read out loud. Hit the play button in the top right corner of any training slide and it’ll do the talking for you — in a natural voice, not a robot one. Handy if you’d rather listen than read.
Skip Content You've Already Completed
Big one, this. We understand that sitting through the same training content across multiple locations is painful — so we fixed it. When a learner already has a current assessment and starts training at another location, they’ll get a prompt asking if they want to do the whole thing again or just skip the bits they’ve already seen. New content shows up as normal, previously completed slides show as done in the navigation bar, and interactive plans always appear regardless. It only kicks in while you’re still within the assessment skip window.
Smarter Learner Email Management
We’ve put a lot of work into improving our email deliverability this release. Here’s a rundown of what changed:
Learners who haven’t responded to reminders, completed training, or logged in for a long time are now automatically marked as inactive and taken off the reminder list. No point keep sending to addresses that have gone quiet.
If an inactive learner logs back in or gets an assessment completed for them, they’re automatically reactivated and back in the reminder flow. No manual cleanup needed.
Transactional and bulk emails now go through separate configurations. Keeps the important stuff (access codes, certificates) separate from the bulk reminders.
Emails going to Microsoft consumer domains (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, etc.) now get routed through a dedicated setup to work around the deliverability headaches those providers are known for.
We’ve added support for IP pools, so different types of emails can be sent from different IP addresses.
Compliance Dashboard — Disable Rules
You can now turn off individual compliance rules. Go to the rules page under Compliance Settings, hit the options menu on a rule, and choose Disable. Disabled rules show up with grey text and a strikethrough, so they stand out. Re-enable them the same way whenever you need to.
Fixes and Improvements
Fixed the Courses page cutting off when you had a lot of courses.
Fixed a bug where multiple side menus could stack on top of each other when the sidebar was collapsed.
Fixed a crash caused by having two consecutive spaces in an administrator’s display name.
All columns on the Manage Learners table are now sortable, including ones that weren’t before like Last Login and custom registration fields.
The icon bar in the SDK Viewer is smoother when scrolling left and right.
