Introducing Darren Cobb - CFO Locatrix

Locatrix Welcomes Darren Cobb

Locatrix is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Cobb as CFO.  

Darren is more than a seasoned finance executive — he’s a strategic leader with deep experience in scaling SaaS and tech-driven businesses. Over the past two decades, he’s led finance teams through high-growth phases, international expansions, private equity transactions, and major system transformations.

Most recently, Darren was CFO at Sensor Global (fire tech), where he helped launch a cutting-edge IoT platform from the ground up. He played a key role in the acquisition of InspectRealEstate by a global PE firm (the same one that acquired Uptick), led Panthera Finance through a $50M investment round, and helped GlobalX pivot to the cloud and expand internationally to the UK and complete 14 acquisitions.

With a strong allignment to Locatrix’s values, Darren believes in integrity as a foundation, empowering people to do their best work and building systems that scale with purpose. He’s passionate about data-led decision-making, using metrics to drive clarity and fostering a culture where finance is a strategic partner — not just a back-office function.

Darren, looking forward to working with Locatrix, shared what most drew him to the business and what he hopes to deliver:

Darren holds an MBA from UQ, is a CPA, and has completed executive programs at Stanford and Harvard — but more importantly, he brings a mindset of curiosity, humility, and strategic clarity that will help guide us through our next phase of growth.

When not counting beans, Darren loves camping, hiking, travelling and spending time with his wife and family and has in the past volunteered with the Voices of Biralee, Brisbane’s youth Choral organization.
