Locatrix recognition in Gartner Competitive Landscape: Indoor Mapping Report
Locatrix are thrilled to have been recognised by Gartner in their report “Competitive Landscape: Indoor Mapping”, Authored by Annette Zimmerman and Tim Zimmerman: published 11 March 2021.
John Hummelstad, Locatrix CEO shares his excitement: “We are delighted by the insights shown by the Gartner analysts, in particular with reference to our target audience and business model. In our view, this report clearly translates our go-to-market for PlanStudio and its uniqueness within the indoor mapping marketplace. Other mapping providers rely upon selling their capability to the building owner to map the interior. We at Locatrix put PlanStudio into the hands of the fire, contractors and building certifiers who use this tool daily to create Evacuation Signs and map essential safety assets within a building. PlanStudio users generate revenue by streamlining workflow processes and therefore PlanStudio becomes a vital ingredient to their daily work routine”.
We believe Gartner shows a broad understanding of the Locatrix model for our unique way of doing business with these partners.
From the humble beginnings from drafting and creating evacuation diagrams, Locatrix has found its way to providing a means to quickly and easily create indoor mapping by way of PlanStudio. As Gartner points out:
“The evolution of the indoor mapping market can be best described by looking at the different types of vendors and their impact. The characteristics of these different types of vendors have shaped the indoor mapping market for the future.”
We are very excited to be included in this report and in this landscape. The future of indoor mapping is exciting and we believe we have the recipe to develop the largest database of indoor mapping in the world, thanks to our partners and their successful use of PlanStudio, our inventory is growing by one million sqm each month.
The “Digital Twin” movement in property technology is growing at expediential speed, but primarily for the new builds. With the capabilities of PlanStudio, we can build the functionality of the Digital Twin providers to create the digital version of a “Thin Twin” for those existing buildings – “This is super exciting” says Hummelstad when you recognise that 99% of buildings have analogue pdf versions of their current buildings that are woefully out of date – if they can find them at all!”
